Film

Thanks to support from Arts Council England, the NCEM is now able to show films which support its year-round music programme.

As part of the York Early Music Festival it will be showing Laurence Olivier's film of Shakespeare's Henry V (2 July at 7pm) and The Orlando Consort will present a carefully crafted soundtrack to Carl Theodor Dreyer's 1928 film La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc (7 July and sold out).

The NCEM has a strong partnership with the Yorkshire Film Archive and the internationally recognised Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) and will be a venue for this year's Festival which takes place throughout the City of York  from 5 to 8 November.

More details about film screenings will be posted on this page in due course.
